Darren Ansell | Founding Member | Head Investigator | Chairman
For most of my teenage life I grew up with many paranormal experiences, and to understand this phenomena I joined a paranormal group before founding NIPS in 2005. I have a desire to understand this type of activity taking a purely scientific and balanced approach. As Head Investigator my role is to oversee the investigation from beginning to end, making sure that all the team are carrying out the investigation according to NIPS procedures and guidelines. I am involved with new investigation methods and developing experiments such as audio/visual. During this time I have also set up our second team in Omagh and been heavily involved in setting up the IPA (Irish Paranormal Alliance). I am a Business Development Manager by day, so I use these interpersonal skills within the team to deal with clients, the general public and media. I am also involved in recruiting for new members with required skills, as well as the general running of the team.

Tony Armstrong | Lead Investigator | Head of Research & Technology | Webmaster
My naturally inquisitive, but sceptical mind coupled with a fascination of the paranormal originally led me to join NIPS. This was both to further my own knowledge and working closely with other members of the team my aim is to help the group develop its research into various phenomena through the informed and effective use of the most up to date equipment available. Whilst on investigation, my role is to help plan the investigation, ensure that procedures are followed, results are documented and every possible angle is covered in searching for the root cause of reported anomalies, while being mindful of the interests and safety of the client. Off location I keep the website updated with new research/articles, build contacts, road test new equipment, develop new experiments and spend time researching various phenomena. Through this research, the end goal for the group is to assist members of the public in understanding any previously unexplained experiences, and to provide further help, if necessary.

Mark | Investigator | Audio/Visual - Analyst & Broadcast Technician
I have been an audio/visual tech for a number of years, filming, producing and directing everything from documentaries to music videos and even the odd feature film. I've been interested in the paranormal for as long as i can remember, I think that it would be pretty arrogant of us as a race of people to think that we have discovered everything there is to know about life let alone death. I think we've only reached the tip of the iceberg in both respects. I consider myself 50% Spiritually minded and 50% technologically minded. I think before technology evolved us, we all had a built in ability to know certain things, however, this is now the world we live in so occasionally we must rely on technology.
I believe my role with NIPS is to make sure all audio/visual evidence, as well as the groups procedures and investigations, are documented visually with as high a standard of quality as possible for our own advancement and for the benefit of the public.

Cormac Donnelly | Investigator | Psychology
Paranormal phenomena have always fascinated me for as long as I can recall. The interest in these issues has never waned as I grew older.
I began studying Psychology at school, and this then led me to study Psychology at university level. I found the study of human behaviour extremely interesting. After I completed my degree, I returned to University to complete a postgraduate diploma in Criminology. I believe that a vast amount of paranormal phenomena can be explained in a rational manner. The human mind may play a great part in explaining these phenomena, in terms of perception and subconscious cues or fears. I also believe that we have not unlocked the full potential of our minds and I would like to explore issues such as telekinesis, and discover the truth of such phenomena.
I also believe that in the very far future mankind may view what we perceive to be paranormal today to be factual and part of everyday life. In a much similar vein as to how the discoveries of X-rays were perceived to have paranormal qualities and today they are commonplace in all hospitals throughout the world.
My role in NIPs will be to access the human side of reported paranormal cases, and offering advice on how to deal with sensitive issues. I approach this subject matter with a degree of scepticism, however I do keep an open mind, and hope that I can further my understanding of a broad range of paranormal issues.

Roddy Breslin | Lead Investigator - NIPS North-West
It’s now well over a year since I became a member of what I now truly believe is one the best paranormal teams in the UK & Ireland today. With my skills in photography and filming, it is my job within the team to provide the very best possible picture and sound quality when it comes to gathering evidence of the paranormal on video-cams and digital photo-stills. I am constantly trying to find new ideas and methods to add in the search for real evidence.
As Lead Investigator in the North West Section of NIPS, I am truly proud of the close-knit team that has evolved here. Adrian, Raymond, and Joy our new investigator in training are all dedicated to researching this subject.
Without doubt the biggest highlight over the past year was being invited by Darren to play our part in the making of the highly successful ‘Northern Ireland’s Greatest Haunts’ The fact that I was responsible for most of the photography on locations and that my filming skills were also used in some of the making of the program fills me with great pride. For as long as my skills are required I will remain a very proud and happy member of this great paranormal team.

Raymond Breslin | Investigator - NIPS North-West
I've always had a very keen interest in the paranormal and have longed to joined a group that was into finding the truth. I was introduced to NIPS through my brother Roddy. He had already been a member for about a year or so and I was very happy when he suggested me becoming a member too. I never thought my first meeting with NIPS would end up with me playing a small part in a really fantastic, new TV series called Northern Ireland's Greatest Haunts. I really enjoyed meeting and getting to know the rest of the NIPS team who I found to be a very genuine bunch of people and I am honored they accepted me as a member and really enjoyed working with them on the investigations for the TV series and I very much look forward to taking part in new investigations in the future.

Adrian Wilson | Investigator - NIPS North-West
Since a young age I have been fascinated with the subject of the paranormal. In order to understand and gain knowledge on various phenomena, I joined the NIPS NW team under the leadership of Roddy Breslin. Both myself and Raymond have been involved in many investigations throughout the North-West and further afield. We meet with Darren and his team on a regular basis for training and to carry out investigations. The team in the North-West is a well balanced one, made up of both believers and sceptical minded members.
As an investigator, my role within NIPS is to try and capture evidence of paranormal activity and to assist the team in finding new locations for investigations and coming up with new ideas for research.
