My naturally inquisitive, but sceptical mind coupled with a fascination of the paranormal led me to join NIPS. This is both to further my own knowledge and by introducing any skills I may have and working closely with other members of the team my aim is to help the group develop it's research into various phenomena through the informed and effective use of the most up to date equipment available. Through this research, the end goal for the group is to assist members of the public in understanding any previously unexplained experiences, and to provide further help, if necessary.

These experiences have only strengthened my belief that the spirit world exists. With the NIPS team I hope to improve my knowledge & understanding of the paranormal and be able to help others.

From the early age of 10 I became aware of unusual incidents in my home, lights would go on for no apparent reason, different noises could be heard and also there were a few strange sightings. Even from such an early age I had an urge to investigate the paranormal world. I have personally experienced other inexplicable activity, helping me decide that in my quest for answers I could help others along the way, thus becoming a member of NIPS. Samuel Johnson was once quoted saying “of ghosts all argument is against it; but all belief is for it. So with my belief, I hope we can make the argument for “ghosts” and paranormal activity a lot easier.
But these answers wont come overnight, they will take time and patience (something I will have to work on). We will also have to answer a lot of questions, as Leonardo Da Vinci wrote “no human investigation can be called real science if it cannot be demonstrated mathematically.”
This may not be possible whilst working with the unknown but with the use of my technical knowledge I hope I can help the team get there.

I have been an audio/visual tech for a number of years, filming, producing and directing everything from documentaries to music videos and even the odd feature film. I've been interested in the paranormal for as long as i can remember, I think that it would be pretty arrogant of us as a race of people to think that we have discovered everything there is to know about life let alone death. I think we've only reached the tip of the iceberg in both respects. I consider myself 50% Spiritually minded and 50% technologically minded. I think before technology evolved us, we all had a built in ability to know certain things, however, this is now the world we live in so occasionally we must rely on technology.

I believe my role with NIPS is to make sure all audio/visual evidence, as well as the groups procedures and investigations, are documented visually with as high a standard of quality as possible for our own advancement and for the benefit of the public.

I was very blessed growing up to have a mother who raised me to be as open minded as she is, I had the freedom to believe or not to be believe in whatever I wished and hence my inquisitive mind led me down many paths of interest over the years. I do believe in God but there are other things that are unseen and unexplained out there, I feel it is ignorant to assume that this is an impossibility. There may be things mankind either isn’t supposed to know about or perhaps isn’t ready to know about. Paranormal research to date may only be the start of something that unfortunately may not be accomplished in my lifetime, but will always be progressing with new theories and technology.
I'm a believer but I’m not naïve. I have a sceptical side; I feel it’s important in keeping a level head and a balanced and rational view. I am hoping to broaden my knowledge and experience, and alongside the team help those who require it.

NIPS in the North-West

I've always had a very keen interest in the paranormal since my teens.  But a few years ago an ex-girlfriend had strange things happening in a house she was renting in Omagh.  As a Guitar Tutor I had only started using a camcorder a year or so before this as in aid for teaching my pupils. When I was asked to try a little investigating in her house using night vision, I never dreamed this would my entrance into the world of the paranormal. Myself and others who later joined me spent over three months investigating the house and we managed to capture a lot of very interesting things on video.  Since then I have taken part in other investigations in various locations.  I'm very proud and pleased that NIPS have accepted me as their contact in the North-west and very much look forward to putting my skills to good use with the team in the near future.

I started doing ghost tours some years ago and along the way I became a firm believer in the world of spirit and the after-life. I have taken part in many paranormal investigations over the past 3 years in the Omagh area and throughout Ireland. I joined NIPS-North-West because I liked their balanced and open-minded approach to the paranormal. I'm thrilled to be part of this team knowing that I can continue doing what I like doing best with like-minded people. I not only look forward to working with the North-West team but also with the full NIPS team throughout Northern Ireland in the future.

I've had a life-long interest in the paranormal and so I'm very pleased and proud to be a member of NIPS NORTH-WEST. I'm now really looking forward to meeting and hopefully working with the NIPS team at some stage in the near future as well as taking part in local investigations with NIPS North-West around Mid-Ulster and throughout the North-West.
